My Go-To City Break Fragrance

I’m quite fussy when it comes to summer scents. In the past I’ve gone for something Floral  like Jo Malone’s Blackberry & Bay but I thought I’d try something a little different to take with me on my summer travels.

Albert Fouquet, the creator of Eight & Bob created his fragrances based on memories of places he’d been and they all have a hint of the outdoors. Champs de Provence, the newest fragrance in the range, is no exception.

The Smell

This fragrance was created by Albert Fouquet for his friends who had a villa in Provence, Alessandro and Chiara. So, everything about it reminds me of the freshness of France. It is meant to smell like the wild flowers that grow in the region, but I can smell a hint of wine, too.

The Packaging

The packaging is beautiful. It comes in a green and white stripped box, which is very reminiscent of the colours of Provence. A 100ml bottle is £125.00, but everything about the scent and its packaging is pure luxury, justifying the price tag.

The bottle is robust which means I’ve been able to throw it in my hand luggage without worrying about whether it’s going to leak or break. The lid is very secure, too.

The logo and the simplicity of the design makes it a lovely addition to a dressing table. It’s not the type of bottle you want to hide in the cupboard.

The Longevity

When I’m spending £125 on a fragrance I like to know it’s going to last well throughout the day. This is especially important if you’re taking it on holiday with you. I can say with confidence that it does last. I’ve also had a lot of compliments about the smell, which is quite a testament because I only tend to put one to two squirts on at any one time.

The Price Point

This is probably a little more than I would typically spend on a perfume. I do lean towards higher priced perfumes because of the reasons mentioned above. Perfume is one of the items you can splurge on and the more you spend does make a difference to the quality of the ingredients you find inside.

This perfume, however, does have quite a back story. JFK is one of its many famous fans of years gone by. There was a time in the past when all of Hollywood were desperate to get their hands on the fresh scents of Eight & Bob. This might explain the higher price tag. As well as perfume, the brand sells deodorants and even candles at the likes of Harvey Nichols.

What Is Your Favourite City Break Fragrance?

I picked this one because it’s versatile. It goes from day to night quite seamlessly meaning that you don’t need to pack numerous perfumes for a short trip.

What’s your go-to perfume for your city breaks? I’d love to add to my collection so please do let me know!
